Organization User Permissions Help

The organization permissions rights page is where you can view and edit the permissions of the users associated with your organization. This page gives you the ability to fine-tune the structure of your organization, and give you the flexibility to manage your team as you see fit.

Permission Classes
There are four different permission classes that the users of your organization can be associated to. Each user will be assigned one distinct permission class. This is the list of available permissions:

OWNER – the owner class gives the user every permission allowed to the organization.  Only one user within the organization can be designated the owner, and this is initially assigned to the user who creates the organization.  An organization must always have an owner assigned, and only the owner has the ability to change this permission.

ADMIN – an admin is similar to the permissions of the owner, where they are given every permission allowed to the organization except for the ability to change owners.  There is no minimum number of admins that must be associated with the organization.

MEMBER – this is the permission level that newly invited users are assigned. 

WATCHER – the most basic class; gives the user the ability to view organization activities.


Other permissions
  • Payer  - this is a designation that one user in the organization can be assigned.  This gives the user the ability to pay for any of the organization’s activities.  This added flexibility allows numerous members to register for listings, project boards, and premium profiles, but allows those users to pass off payment for those subscriptions to the assigned payer for completion.  Other users are allowed to pay for subscriptions that they create, but this added option allows payment to be handled by one user, if so desired.

  • Organization Contact – any user who is assigned to be an organization contact will receive the communications from other users in the marketplace for your organization.  Whenever users outside of your organization click on one of your ‘Contact Organization’ buttons, these user(s) will receive those messages. 
Actions
  • Promote user – this gives organizations an easy way to move their associated users up through the permission classes. The order from highest priority:  OWNERADMINMEMBER - WATCHER
  • Demote user – this moves the user down through the permission classes.
  • Remove user from organization – this will remove the user from your organization.

Customize User Permissions
If you would like more control over the permission classes, then this area allows you to specify any permission associated to a particular user.

Invite New Members
This will give you the ability to invite new users to your organization through email. You can enter email addresses which will send the template invite to your invitees. You are welcome to edit the subject or body fields if you so desire.

Change Ownership of Organization
If you are the designated owner of your organization, then you have the ability to give the ownership to another current user associated with your organization. This will remove you as the owner.
